The Traitors (U.S.) Season 3 Episode 1
The third season of The Traitors premiered with 21 celebrity contestants arriving at a Scottish castle to compete for a $250,000 prize. Host Alan Cumming introduced a twist by presenting a masked figure—revealed to be Survivor legend Rob “Boston Rob” Mariano—and offered the group a chance to bring him into the game by shaking his hand, which would also allow them to immediately exile another player. The contestants declined, and Mariano exited, though Cumming hinted at his potential return.
Cumming then selected three Traitors: Danielle Reyes (Big Brother), Carolyn Wiger (Survivor), and Bob the Drag Queen. A new rule was introduced: at the game’s end, remaining players must rely solely on their instincts to determine if all Traitors have been eliminated, adding a layer of uncertainty.
In the first mission, contestants rowed a boat to various stations to collect money and fuel, with two players volunteering to stay behind at each stop, risking elimination. Notably, Housewives stars Robyn Dixon and Chanel Ayan, followed by Dolores Catania and Dorinda Medley, volunteered early, raising suspicions about their motives. The group retrieved $20,000 but left an additional $20,000 behind, leading to criticism from Medley, who felt the team lacked effort.
The episode concluded with the Traitors convening to plan their first “murder,” and a twist revealed that Boston Rob would join the game as a Traitor, setting the stage for intensified deception in upcoming episodes.
New episodes of The Traitors air Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET on Peacock.
