Joel Mchale Cast in Scream 7

Ok in a bit of news I didn’t see coming. Joel Mchale has been cast as Sidney prescotts husband in scream 7. Now this is interesting because he has the same first name as Patrick Dempseys character but not the same last name. So is this another character and are Sidney and mark kincaid divorced? Or is Mchale replacing Dempsey and they are just giving him a new name? Seems only time will tell. But what do you guys think? Do you like this casting?
