The Amazing Race Season 37 Episode 4

In Episode 4 of The Amazing Race Season 37, titled “There’s No Addresses in the Jungle,” teams ventured from Osaka, Japan, to Bali, Indonesia, introducing a new twist called the “Driver’s Seat.”
Flight Arrangements:
Most teams secured seats on a 7:15 AM flight from Osaka to Bali. However, friends Bernie and Carrigain missed this flight and had to take a later one at 10:55 AM, placing them at a disadvantage.
Driver’s Seat Advantage:
Upon arriving in Bali, teams proceeded to the Pura Puseh Bali Aga Bayad temple, where they awaited their next clue. Jonathan and Ana, arriving first, earned the Driver’s Seat advantage. This allowed them to assign specific weights of rice (15 lbs, 20 lbs, or 25 lbs) that other teams had to thresh during the upcoming Roadblock. Strategically, they assigned 25 lbs to five teams, 20 lbs to three teams, and reserved the lightest 15 lbs for themselves and another team.
Roadblock: Rice Threshing Challenge
In the Tampaksiring rice fields, one member from each team had to thresh the assigned amount of rice to receive their next clue. Jonathan and Ana opted to use their previously acquired Express Pass to bypass this task, maintaining their lead.
Detour: Penjor or Pajegan
Teams then faced a Detour choice:
Penjor: Decorate a bamboo pole and carry it to a stand.
Pajegan: Memorize two offerings, purchase identical items, recreate them, and transport them to a temple.
Most teams chose Penjor, while a few opted for Pajegan.
Pit Stop and Elimination:
Jonathan and Ana arrived first at the Pit Stop, followed by Carson and Jack in second place, and Scott and Lori in third. Bernie and Carrigain, hindered by their delayed flight and the 25 lbs rice threshing assignment, were the last to arrive and were subsequently eliminated from the race.
