1. Valet Roulette: Upon arrival in Porto, teams participated in a “Valet Roulette,” randomly selecting keys to determine whether they’d drive an automatic or manual transmission car for the leg. Carson & Jack and Alyssa & Josiah received automatic cars, while Jonathan & Ana and Han & Holden got manual ones.
2. Wine Barrel Task: Teams traveled to Granjão, Vila Marim, where they paddled across the Douro River and rolled two wine barrels uphill to a storage house to receive their next clue.
3. Roadblock – Archery Challenge: At the Castle of Santa Maria da Feira, one team member donned medieval armor and had to hit three moving targets with a bow and arrow within seven attempts. Carson completed the task on his first try, while Alyssa and Holden succeeded on their second attempts.
4. Tile Puzzle: Teams then traveled by train to São Bento Railway Station in Porto, where they found a man selling tiles that led them to the ODE Porto Wine House. There, they assembled an azulejo tile puzzle depicting the Pit Stop location: the banks of the Douro River beneath the Luís I Bridge.
Cliffhanger Ending:
The episode concluded with a tense moment as both Alyssa & Josiah and Jonathan & Ana were assembling their tile puzzles. Jonathan accidentally dropped a tile, breaking it into pieces, potentially jeopardizing their position in the race.
