Big Brother Season 27 (Ep.1)

Theme & Opening Twist:
The season kicks off with a “Hotel Mystère” / murder‑mystery vibe — complete with secret passageways, a masked villain, and teased non‑human accomplices .
During the opening ceremony, the lights suddenly cut out and when they flick back on, Julie Chen Moonves is “missing”, leaving behind only a single shoe .
A masked figure calling himself “The Mastermind” steps in, claiming responsibility for the mock “kidnapping” of Julie and the theft of the HOH relic — declaring the game cannot go on without retrieving both .
Team Challenges to Recover Julie & the HOH Relic
Houseguests split into two teams of eight:
One team’s mission is to rescue Julie from behind one of eight locked doors. They complete a bridge‑building puzzle over “lava” — and Zach succeeds, earning $10,000
The other team hunts for the true HOH relic among many fakes — Jimmy locates it and wins the right to select the four competitors for the first HOH comp.
During Jimmy’s team’s success, The Mastermind’s lair explodes, seemingly nullifying his takeover — yet the mystique continues .
First Head of Household:
Jimmy selects himself, Vince, Adrian, and Ashley to compete.
Vince becomes the first HOH of Season 27, granting him nomination power .
Twist: Secret Accomplice
The Mastermind reveals there’s a Secret Accomplice inside the house — working for him.
If the other houseguests identify the accomplice, that person is out. If not, the accomplice officially enters as the 17th mystery houseguest .
Mystery Houseguest Revealed:
The big surprise: the mystery 17th houseguest is none other than Rachel Reilly, winner of BB13 and a beloved (and polarizing) alum .
She arrives in full force, cryptically proclaiming, “Floaters grab a life vest… Reality royalty is back” — promising to shake things up
Rachel enters not as a mere cameo, but as a full player, intending to show these newbies how it’s done . Stay tuned for Episode 2 Sunday at 8 pm est.
